Joe Bowerbank
President
Profundity Communications, Inc.

Joe has more than 20 years of marketing, communications, branding, and
strategy experience in the financial services and technology sectors helping

to grow organizations and build market share. He is a company building

marketing professional who understands what it takes to catapult companies to the next level and quickly increase revenue.


Joe established Profundity Communications Inc., a boutique-style public relations, branding, and marketing strategy firm, in order to apply his experience and skill sets to help clients achieve above-and-beyond results. He has successfully operated at an in-house marketing capacity where he managed functions such as marketing strategy, communications plans, go-to-market launches, public relations, branding, digital marketing, content marketing, advertising, corporate identity, trade shows and events, websites, collateral, budgeting, competitive analysis, and essentially most facets of marketing.

Prior to founding Profundity, Joe was the SVP of Marketing & Strategic Alliances at Loan-Score Decisioning Systems, an enterprise-class software provider, which he was instrumental in helping with the company’s acquisition by Silicon Valley-based Calyx Software, Inc. Before joining Loan-Score, Joe was the Vice President of Marketing at Portellus Inc., one of the fastest growing mortgage technology vendors in the industry (acquired by Fiserv Inc. NASDAQ: FISV). Preceding Portellus, he headed the marketing strategy at Commerce Velocity Inc., a business process automation firm catering to the mortgage banking industry (acquired by Fidelity National Financial Inc. NYSE: FNF).


Before Commerce Velocity, Joe was the Director of Marketing & Market Adoption at Electronic Distribution Networks Inc. (EDN), a software communications provider serving multiple vertical markets. Ultimately, he fashioned an extremely influential marketing presence that assisted in the facilitation of the company’s acquisition by ProQuest Business Solutions Inc. (NYSE: PQE).

Previous to EDN, Joe worked as a Team Lead on National Accounts in the Sales & Marketing Department at MGV Memory Inc., at the time ranked the number two computer memory manufacturer in the U.S.A. He has also worked at Bozell Worldwide Advertising Inc. and Rodheim Marketing Group Inc. In addition, Joe has consulted various companies to direct their marketing strategy and communications plans.

Awards & Recognition
Joe is an active member of the Mortgage Banking Association and serves as a well-rounded expert and thought leader on the topic of mortgage technology. Most recently, he was honored as one of the 2019 ‘Top Trailblazers’ in Marketing & Public Relations, as awarded by PROGRESS in Lending Association. In 2012, he was also designated as one of the ‘Top 25 Most Connected Mortgage Professionals’ in the industry, mostly due to his vast network of relationship capital. In addition, Joe was voted one of the ‘Top 40 Most Influential Mortgage Professionals Under 40’ by National Mortgage Professional magazine back-to-back years in 2009 and 2010.

 

Volunteer Work
Joe has performed volunteer work for Child Cancer Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Alzheimer's Association, American Red Cross, Red Nose Day for child poverty, LifeStream Blood Drives, the Homeless, as well as other non-profit entities. He also served on California State University, Fullerton’s UEE Advisory Board for its sales and marketing program course development.

Consumer Advocacy 

One thing that is near and dear to Joe’s heart is the topic of consumer advocacy. For as long as Joe can remember, he served as an advocate for protecting those who were unable to protect themselves, which dated back to his high school days. Over the years, Joe has fought relentlessly, tirelessly and with unwavering passion to protect people from being taken advantage of --- on a number of different levels. Today, he has an established Consumer Advocacy component to his PR firm that is designed specifically to fight for the rights of consumers being taken advantage of by large and small companies, powerful and well-connected entities, or individual bullies. Joe often takes on cases pro bono.    

 

Education
He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from California State University, Fresno and an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship from Concordia University, Irvine.

 

About Joe
Joe resides on a small island in Newport Beach, Calif. with his wife Mona and seven-year-old son Mason. His parents, Joe and Sandra Bowerbank, live in Irvine, Calif. where Joe grew up. He has a brother John who lives in neighboring Huntington Beach with his wife Jenny and twins Kevin and Emily.
